Ecotec oil pressure gauge installFrom JBOK WikiHow-To: Installing an oil pressure gauge on the ecotec engineSubmitted by Professor J
Now most oil pressure senders are 1/8 at the threaded end. Solution...You bet ya! You can do 1 of 2 things... 1. Get a 12x1.75 bolt and tap a 1/8 hole in the center or... 2. Order the adapter from autometer (pn 2278) and thats a 12x1.75 to 1/8 fitting. If space is an issue you can chose to purchase autometers oil line kit and remote mount your sender (pn 3227) This includes a stainleess line with AN fitting and a few diff brass fittings to meet your application. Both parts can be purchased at Summit racing for under 60 bucks. This is the 12x1.75 adapter fitting:
This port is on the right side of the head just under the fuel lines. Install the 12x1.75 adapter and crush ring, Be sure to use teflon tape/paste on the threads. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!! Using some teflon tape/paste cover the threads to this 1/8 AN fitting and thread it into the 12x1.75 adapter. I reccomend doing this step OFF the head to avoid over tightning the the 12x1.75 fitting into the head.
I do not have it pictured but the other AN fitting will thread onto the oil pressure sender (pics soon) Remember I said to not over tighten? Lucky for me the broken end came out of the head very easy! |
