So i came into possession of some new audio gear on the free but i don't know what i want to do with it, and before you assume i mean stole it i assure you thats definitely not what i mean.

Some guy traded in a car at the dealership that i work at with some pretty awesome gear in it, saying that he didn't know how to remove it so he wasn't going to even try. Now this guy must have some money to through around because it was a relatively new trailblazer with some nice chrome pieces and some big custom wheels, plus this "audio gear" i keep referring to.

So after the guy leaves i take it for a spin and OH MY GOD it was ridiculously loud. Here's what the guy had in it, and i say "had" because they are now at my house! 8)
2 12'' JL W7's
4000 watt Memphis mojo amp
(see the rest in the pics)

That is the car before me and my buddy started.

ImageImage
That is the Set-up with only the top panel removed.

ImageImage
That is the AMP sitting on top of the box. It had blue led light on either side.

ImageImage
Those are the two capacitors the guy was running, he had an extra battery under the back seat.

ImageImage
This is after we got all the panels from around the box/amp/everything off and were starting to unbolt the box from the frame of the car (and thats my buddy who was doin this little project with me)

ImageImage
Thats the AMP after i got it into my house. 4000 Watt memphis Mojo

ImageImage
Thats also after i got everything in the house, pretty thick box.

So now i have everything here at the house and i don't know what to do. Do i:
A. Get a bigger alternator and second battery and hook all that up in the cavy
or
B. Stay with my current set-up and sell all the new stuff

Leaning towards B a little because i figure this is some pretty high dollar stuff. What to do?

Yeah its definitely the biggest amp I've ever seen, its a bit over 30'' long and it weights a ton as far as amps go.

If you put that in your cav you wouldn't have one left!!! I know that like the 8" JL W7's hit HARD and can do damage, but I can't imagine w 12" with a 4000 watt amp!

They hit hard enough in the trailblazer they were in to flip pennies OUT of the cup holder onto the floor. It was ridiculous.

I need to figure out how much i can potentially sell all this for, and where to sell it. Any ideas?

Yeah if I was you, I'd sell it. That's all top notch stuff and you could make a good bit of money by selling it. List it on craigslist or some other places locally. I'd hate to see the shipping cost if you had to mail them. Plus if you were to put it in your J, you'd have screws rattling out of the door panels let alone make you deaf

There is a video of James running two w7's in his cavy and the trunk bouncing around like crazy, I think it's on youtube or streetfire or something.

I went ahead and listed them in Lexington on craigslist so we'll see what happens.

Anyone have a link to the vid?

Wow thats crazy, those 12w7's definitely wouldn't be good for the cavy.

Some guy offered to trade me a 1996 Ford Escort hatch with like 175k miles on it for the system today  i said thanks but no thanks.

haha that shit would be crazy.. I'd just like some nice speakers and a nice cd deck so I can crank it up sometimes. The whole slamming the shit out of the car doesn't really appeal.. i like to hear what the people are saying in the song you know.

I definitely feel you on that one, and thats about what the system i have in my car is good for, i don't see the want for anything much louder. At least not on a day to day basis.

I got another offer on all the stuff, the guy offered me $500 and when i turned that down he offered me his 1989 BMW 325iS, which would have been a good deal about a week ago BEFORE the blow-out at 115MPH. Now the wheel on the drivers side is half-way inside the car about where the pedals are supposed to be (and still attached to the axle) plus the roof is buckled and its just generally torn all to hell.

Getting warmer though, so my hopes are still high on getting rid of all this stuff for some $$$

amps do have gain knobs for a reason put it in and turn it up till it suites you i had two kicker 15'L5's hooked to a hifonics sampson all i had to do was turn it down cause it was way too much for the old cougar to handle a 1/4 gain so basically i had it turned all the way down and it was like having two kicker ZX450 amps hooked to each speaker
